The premise behind Bet a Buddy originated in a Brooklyn Loft in the summer of 1999. Oh what a sweet loft it was with its soaring ceilings and rooftop shower overlooking Manhattan. Many many good times were had in that loft and many million dollar ideas conjured up. Unfortunately, we remember very few of them, but one idea always stuck with us.

So there we were, talking trash about our favorite teams and laying down bets. As many of us have experienced, buddies love to make bets, but rarely seem to pay up. With the Internet Revolution in full swing and all of us involved in different capacities, we set out to develop an application that allowed buddies to lay down and track friendly wagers.

As avid sports fans and message board junkies, we also wanted to create an experience that was much more than just a betting application. After using multiple Office Pool sites through the years, we took some of the better ideas, added our own twist, and out popped a slew of new Office Pools with great functionality for both Admins and Poolies.

For the final piece of the puzzle we borrowed from our message board addiction. The true hardcore fans always hang out on the boards. It's a great way to banter about our favorite teams and an excellent source for the latest News. Fueled by our love for breaking sports news, we created an application to aggregate sports feeds for all our favorite teams. Many of us bounce between our favorite sports sites throughout the day.
